Kickboxing for Beginners

Grown-Ups

Grown-Ups Beginners Classes are on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 18.30 - 19.30. You can join at any time of the year. For information on where and when click here.

There a class for higher grades on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 19.30. If you are more advanced, or would like more fitness and more training time, come along to this one as well.

Children

Beginners, who are Children should come along to the Monday class at 18.00 or a Friday class at 18.00. Both classes are held at The Batt School, off Corn Street, Witney. Children can join at any time of the year.

Both Chris Hoyles and Kelly Drewett are CRB (Crimes Record Bureau) Checked. Kelly Drewett is also fully first aid and trauma trained.

 

Not a Beginner?

If you are not a beginner you can come along to a class on a Tuesday or Thursday, and take part in a lesson at 19.30.

 

What to Wear to Training

On your first lesson wear comfortable sports clothing. There is a lot of running around and jumping. You can wear clean trainers, but most go bear foot.

 

How Much?

Windrush Kickboxing Club works on a 'pay as you go' scheme. You only pay when you turn up. Price per session, for both children and adults, is £5.00.

 

Further Costs

Once you have decided you want to join the club, you will need to purchase some of the following items:

License

Annual license which covers you for injuries incurred during training and competitions £20.00. (£25.00 for blackbelts).

Pads

Head Guard, feet pads, gloves, shin guard, groin guard (men). Various prices please ask.

Competitions etc obviously cost extra, and are all completely different.

 

Gradings/Belts

Time allowing, gradings are held approximately every 4 months, depending on who needs to take them. Belts in this club start at white, and go through to yellow, orange, green, blue, purple, brown and then 1st dan black.

Chris is the only person in the club who can decide when you take a grading. Grading books can be purchased from the club at £5.00 each, so you can practise at home.
